Day 1

Arrival - Delhi

Arrive at the Delhi International Airport and after your immigration formalities and baggage collection, proceed towards the main arrival hall. Meet our representative/your tour guide and proceed to your hotel of choice for check-in.

Rest of the day at leisure. Evening you have the option of visiting the Akshardham Temple.

Day 2

Delhi Sightseeing

Morning after breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Delhi covering Jama Masjid, Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk, a nerve-racking rickshaw ride awaits you in old Delhi. Proceed to visit Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. After which you can visit Bangla Sahab, the Sikh Temple where everyday free meal is served to more than 20,000 worshipers and visitors. Should the time permit, also visit the Lotus Temple one of the very few Bahai Temples in the world.

Return to the hotel and evening at leisure.

Day 3

Delhi - Jaipur 280 kms (5 hours)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to visit Qutub Minar and then drive to Jaipur which lies approximately 280 kms east of Delhi. Upon arrival in Jaipur visit the old city also famous as the Pink City and spend some time in the old market of Jaipur to soak in the local life. The vibrant colors and haggling of the shopkeepers can be overwhelming but that is true India.

After that drive to the hotel and rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 4

Jaipur Sightseeing

After breakfast proceed to Amer Fort, one of the magnificent forts of Rajasthan. On the way up to the fort experience an elephant ride. From here proceed to the City Palace of Jaipur and Observatory.

Drive back to the hotel and rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Evening you have the option to visit Choki Dhani and village theme-based restaurant serving local Rajasthani cuisine in authentic Rajasthani style. In the backdrop will be performances and shows by local artists and artisans.

Day 5

Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra

After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Fathepur Sikri, a small town 30 kms southwest of Agra, where Akbar the Great (one of the Mughal Emporers) had built a huge city with Red Sandstone which had to be abandoned due to scarcity of water. The site today is part of Unesco World Heritage sites and is certainly worth a visit. From here proceed to Agra and check in at the hotel.

Today evening you have the option to visit a cultural theater and dance program which tells the history of Taj Mahal. Or visit the local market of Agra and dive into the local life here. You can try (at your own risk ) any or all of the lip smacking Indian snacks at the famous chaat gali (one of the lanes selling Indian snacks).

Day 6

Agra sightseeing

Morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the jaw dropping, awe-inspiring, one and only Taj Mahal, the true symbol of love. A poem of love in marble, a teardrop on the cheek of time. It has been and can be described by everyone in different manner but Taj Mahal cannot be described in words, for it is far greater than mere words. It is transcendental.

After visiting Taj Mahal proceed to visit the Red Fort where Shah Jahan was kept under house arrest, and in 1857 the sepoy mutiny was subdued. From here proceed to visit the predecessor of Taj Mahal also famous as the Baby Taj, which many believe, may have inspired the design of Taj Mahal.

Procced to the hotel and rest of evening at leisure.

Day 7

Agra - Jhansi - Orchha

After breakfast we checkout from the hotel and travel with a train to Jhansi – and from there on we continue by bus/car to Orchha, the once thriving capital of the Bundela-Rajputs: Upon arrival at Orchha check in at the hotel and later we proceed for a city-tour through the interesting place, which is richly decorated with palaces, temples and mausoleums on the banks of the Betwa river, most of which are very well preserved.

Day 8

Orchha - Khajuraho

Today we drive to Khajuraho – the incomparable temples of Khajuraho (UNESCO World Heritage Site) are a highlight of any trip to India. Built in the 11th century under the Chandela kings, the temples are excellent example of Indian architecture combined with accomplished stone masonry. The sculptors created an exuberant glorification of the divine and profane world, an opulent and sensual image of the creation of the world. In the evening we visit the Khandaria Dance Show.

Day 9

Khajuraho - Varanasi

This morning we continue the tour of Khajuraho. Around noon transfer to the airport and onward flight to Varanasi: The “City of Eternity” is the holiest place of the Hindus and the most famous pilgrimage destination of India. In the evening we visit the Ghats on the Ganges, where we attend a fire ceremony (Aarti).

Day 10

Varanasi - Sarnath

Varanasi or Benares is a major religious hub in India. One of the holiest and sacred cities in Hinduism the city awakens at crack of dawn and pilgrims can already be seen bathing in the holy river Ganges – slowly the city awakens with its seething day rhythm. Before breakfast, we glide along the bank by boat, marvel at the hustle and bustle of the city, bathed in magical morning light and marked by religious rituals. In the afternoon drive to nearby Sarnath, where Gautam Buddha delivered his first sermon and set in motion the “Wheel of Dharma”.

Day 11

Varanasi - Delhi

Enjoy the morning at leisure and early in the afternoon transfer to the airport and return to Delhi. After dinner transfer to the airport.
